Research Emphasis
Ironically, the significance of analog circuit design has grown more prominent in the "digital" communication age due, in part, to data converters. These converters provide the critical interfaces between the analog and digital domains in communication and signal-processing systems. Accordingly, the research emphasis is to achieve a breakthrough in the limitations (integration, speed, and power) that data converters impose on these integrated systems.
Research Vision
To develop architectures for mixed-signal ICs, which utilize the advanced digital-signal-processing (DSP) capabilities of scaled CMOS technologies in order to mitigate the non-ideal behavior of the analog circuitry in integrated systems. Techniques include digital calibration, error correction, spectral shaping, and programming.


To devise circuit-design techniques for low-power high-precision analog circuits, which are fabricated in nano-scale CMOS technologies for higher integration of the analog and digital functions in an integrated system and, hence, for lower fabrication costs.
