Faculty Position in Electrical Engineering
The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Case Western Reserve University invites exceptional applicants for tenured or tenure-track faculty positions in electrical engineering. Appointments at all ranks are of interest and will be considered for starting dates as early as July 1, 2010. Applicants should have potential (Assistant) or demonstrated (Associate/Full) excellence in innovative research commensurate with their rank. For appointments at the Full Professor level, a record of leadership in internationally distinguished research is required. All successful candidates are expected to develop a vibrant, high-quality externally sponsored research program, supervise graduate students, and initiate new interdisciplinary collaborations across the university. Applicants should have a strong commitment to high quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
The department specifically seeks candidates who are well grounded in areas pertaining to the development of micro- and nano-systems. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in developing MEMS/NEMS technologies for wireless microsystems, energy applications, medical devices and novel sensor systems. Ideal candidates would be synergistic with one or more of our research thrusts in instrumentation electronics, embedded systems, robotics and intelligent systems, pervasive networks and distributed systems, and systems biology.
Application packages must include (i) cover letter; (ii) current curriculum vitae; (iii) statement of research and teaching interests; and (iv) biographies of the references providing letters of recommendation. Applicants must arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be submitted directly. All applications and recommendations should be sent to electronically to: ecefacultysearch@eecs.case.edu
Applications received by March 1, 2010 will receive full consideration. Review of applications will continue until the positions are filled.
